Daniela Arias

Daniela Arias Santa, from 2022 to 2024, distinguished herself as a research student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Ethnoeducation. She worked as a practitioner with an ethnocommunity pedagogical approach in the rural area of Pereira. Additionally, she conducted significant research on the social memory of ritual practices in organizations searching for missing persons in Riosucio, Caldas. Currently, she is involved in research projects with the Universidad Católica de Pereira, Colombia.

Between 2022 and 2023, she was part of the research group “Figurations of Violence and Power,” playing a key role in research projects on disappearances and memory. She also contributed as a member of the editorial team for the second volume of the magazine “Diálogos Divergentes” and participated in writing a book documenting the experiences of young people who have lived on the streets, as well as the emerging pedagogies implemented in the “Mucha Calle de Pereira” Foundation.

At present, she is engaged in a research project, spanning from 2023 to 2025, alongside researcher Luis Adolfo Martinez, focusing on the challenges of implementing territorial peace and the role of collective actions and violent social practices in constructing the social memory of the armed conflict in Risaralda, Caldas, and Quindío.

Additionally, in 2023, she was one of the winning students of a scholarship to participate in the International Summer School Post-Holocaust at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen Reichman University.
